Stardust Opportunities Solo International, or SOSI, was formed on July 17th, 2005. This company, made up of one person (hence the 'solo' in the title) was created immediately to fill a hole that was made by the recent void left by the previous production company, Studio LRPLI. (Stardust Flash, member of SOSI and presently of HyperSong, was formerly the leader of Studio LRPLI.) Originally known as S.O.S., SOSI (then called "Studio SOSI") inherited the LRPLI library (or what was left of it). To get started, SOSI first created some first draft work for their first major project. This project was a fanfiction based on a nearby place, a well known park. SOSI created mascot characters from some of the well-known static forms in this place and throwing them into random situations, in an attempt to find a plot. (The place? Kings Island, duh.)
The project, OFF/Track, would soon expand to new heights, adding another park, Cedar Point, to its run. National Novel Writing Month and the Heaven's Light project would propose "Steel Angel," SOSI's first major project outside of OFF/Track. In a way, OFF/Track and Steel Angel merged into one: Steel Angel was an alternate storyline to OFF/Track's roller coaster antics, but the characters in the OFF/Track arc played the parts of the characters in Steel Angel. In January of 2006, SOSI broke off from itself and formed HyperSong Ministries, which continues to this day in the tradition that SOSI began. HyperSong inherited OFF/Track, destroying the arc it was but instead forming the OFF/Track Casting Agency. This agency would continue in the tradition of Steel Angel and use OFF/Track's characters as the actors and actresses for all of HSM's materials and packages. SOSI still exists, but as a 'distribution' company that can help others with their creative projects. HyperSong is part of SOSI; SOSI is not part of HyperSong.
In 2006, HyperSong broke out of the mold by creating "The Maristar Project," the story of Kira Tellu (portrayed by Drell Underground or 'Subway' from OFF/Track, CP002), a prophetess who brings God's word to the world in one of the most interesting ways. The story's theme song, "Far Away," was featured on WrimoRadio, NaNoWriMo's podcast, and a piano quartet version of the song is featured on YouTube. Since then, HyperSong has blossomed into a studio that strives to live by its one ideal: to be a ministry.
HyperSong has three main modes of creating a package: written, audio, and audiovisual. HyperSong Press creates an outlet for written material, such as the NaNoWriMo novels Steel Angel and The Maristar Project. KHSM HyperSong Radio, HyperSong's audio division, has seen advances as well, beginning in Fall 2006 with runs on Miami University's student Internet radio, WMSR. Two radio shows, CyberLight and La vida de Yanpeg, have played on HyperSong's time slot (though it is unknown if this will continue or not). After professional experience in the field on radio, HyperSong hopes to continue its track record, using KuroCrew as its base. KHSM HyperSongAV, HSM's audiovisual department, is divided into two departments: ShiroCrew and KuroCrew, which both do animation work for HSM. A YouTube show featuring the popular Drell Vista team, or the D.V. Crew, is in planning stages. It is called "Little White Box" and is expected to ship during the holiday season.
There are two rules to HyperSong, both initiated after the ministry itself was formed (these will be in more detail, especially the second, in the OFF/Track section):
1: Everything must conform to God's expectations and must be pre-approved by Him. NO EXCEPTIONS. As a general rule, no alternate universes and/or HSM characters other than humans, except where dictated in OFF/Track, will be allowed. NO ROBOTS. (I have a problem with that last one.)
2: Characters are created on a real-world basis. Each character must have been regenerated and must have or have had a static, non-alive form in this world in order to be considered. This creates the OFF/Track timeline and casting agency for HyperSong, and the Aurora Complex applies to this rule.
HyperSong PerformanceCrew (PC)
HyperSong uses a brand of Macintosh-manufactured computers to create its packages. Pre-T06, all activities were directed on ShiroCrew, so there was no need for distinction. Now, though, work is done on two separate computers: the slower ShiroCrew computer and the faster, more compact KuroCrew computer. Most of the time, present-day HSM materials are made with KuroCrew, however, on extended breaks, ShiroCrew may be used from time to time.
